The modern Thistle Hotel Middlesbrough is located in the center of the Yorkshire town of Middlesborough, 25 miles from the cathedral city of Durham. The 132 guestrooms have colorful modern decor with pine furniture and separate sitting areas with coffee tables and workdesks with lamps. Bathrooms have bathtub/shower combinations and hair dryers. All rooms feature cable television, dial up Internet connections, coffee/tea making facilities and complimentary newspapers. Guests can while away the hours in the sauna and steam room or take a refreshing dip in the pool. Business guests can make use of the 17 meeting rooms, the largest of which seats 400 theater style, and all of which have air conditioning. In the evening, the Gengis restaurant serves international dishes in a rustic dining room with polished wooden floor and low level lighting.
